Details About Hysterosalpingogram Test (HSG Test) in Kharghar

What is Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)?

Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is a specialized X-ray procedure used to evaluate the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes. It is one of the most important tests in infertility evaluation. At Pixel Diagnostics in Kharghar, our experienced radiologists perform HSG with precision and care.

Why HSG is Done

HSG is primarily performed to check if fallopian tubes are open or blocked, evaluate the shape and structure of the uterus, identify fibroids, polyps, or adhesions, assess recurrent pregnancy loss, and verify tubal ligation. It is a crucial test for couples trying to conceive.

The HSG Procedure in Detail

The test is performed between day 7-10 of your menstrual cycle. A thin catheter is inserted through the cervix, and a contrast dye is gently injected while X-ray images are captured. The entire procedure takes 15-30 minutes. You may experience mild cramping, similar to menstrual pain.

Before and After HSG

Before: Take prescribed pain medication 30-60 minutes prior. Avoid intercourse from the start of your period until the test. After: Light spotting and mild cramping are normal. You can resume normal activities the same day. Results are discussed immediately.
